Description

Teach Cell Membrane Transport and Introduction to Homeostasis with Doodle Notes. Doodle notes are so much fun! The purpose of doodle notes is to make note-taking more engaging and memorable for students. Research shows that doodle notes require both hemispheres of the brain – the analytical right side and the creative left side.

Cell Membrane Transport Notes Include:

  • Passive Transport: Simple Diffusion and Facilitated Diffusion
  • Active Transport: Protein Pump, Endocytosis and Exocytosis
  • The concept of Homeostasis

Using both sides of the brain with doodle notes activates more memory-building neurons which leads to higher retention.

Doodle notes are especially helpful for students who are visual learners. The pictures and colors they create while making doodle notes are much easier for them to recall than black and white fill-in-the-blank or skeleton notes.

These notes are an introduction to the idea of homeostasis on a cellular level, and then goes into detail about the nature of the selectively permeable cell membrane and the four types of Cell Membrane Transport: Simple Diffusion, Facilitated Diffusion, Protein Pumps, Endocytosis and Exocytosis.

Resource comes with:

  • Blank notes: full of creative possibility!
  • Filled in notes: great for students who were absent during note taking
  • Filled in and colored notes for reference and to provide examples and scaffolding to inspire students’ own notes!
  • Very Detailed Teaching guide with tips for how to use in the classroom, suggestions for demonstrations and activities, and links to three great video clips that enforce the concepts!

My students have really enjoyed using doodle notes! They say it is more engaging, enjoyable and even relaxing! I have also noticed that students are much more likely to take care of their notes, having put so much of their own effort into them. You will not find them left behind in your classroom!
